Every season comes with potential hazards, and winter is no exception. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, “Snow blowers (or snow throwers) are the fourth leading cause of finger amputations associated with consumer products” resulting in 1,000 amputations and 5,300 emergency room visits annually and at least nine deaths since 1992.

Snow removal, however, isn’t winter’s only danger. Recreation, travel, heating, even walking pose risks in winter months. This winter play it safe and be prepared.
